Christopher W. of Loves Park, IL gave My-Pros a call when his roof was leaking in three different places. Christopher's home had a very steep roof on the front of the home as well as a flat roof on the back of the home. With the extent of the leaking, both the asphalt shingles and the flat roof needed to be replaced. The flat roof had been installed improperly the first time, with granulated ice and water shield, rather than a proper flat roof membrane. Additionally, the siding on the back dormer of the home had major damage and was in need of replacement.
Our crew got to work removing the existing shingles, using roof jacks to ensure their safety on the steep roof. They tore the shingles down to the decking and then installed a synthetic underlayment to protect the home from ice and water. While this was happening, the crew also removed the existing flat roof and replaced it with a proper flat roofing membrane. They removed the existing siding and replaced it with new vinyl siding in a lovely shade of blue. The crew installed new CertainTeed Landmark shingles in the color Weathered Wood for a protective, and beautiful, new roof.
The home was in need of a new flat roof, shingle roof, and siding.
The flat roof had been improperly installed with a granulated ice and water shield rather than a flat roof membrane.
The slope of the roof meant extra safety precautions needed to be taken.
